so im on delivery, start up my car after droppin off some za, the old brakelight batt light combo comes on and the voltage is nice and battery lookin so the alternator is fucked i guess, so i drive back to work :) later on go out to make sure its not something loose bla bla and i notice my alternator belt is off (mainly at the crank pulley...) so i get out some tools, get it back on and good tightness like before. works again for like 30 seconds til i rev it up and it pops off again.... so saying the belt and tension are fine... im guessing a pulley could be fd and with my luck crank pulley... im gonna go look at it now but wouldnt mind a brainstorm haha

yeah my guess would be an effed pulley...maybe try putting it back on and running it, then go watch to see where it comes off of?

ok fuck, well the crank pulley came sliding off a bit so i took off the wheel and hammered it back a bit now im getting some bad noises when i rev it haha. maybe the belts on too tight..i hope

your crank pully is loose? if thats the case, you got zap that thing down with a impact gun, not a hammer.

you need a new pulley, the harmonics have come apart.

nut is easy with a breaker bar and a 19mm head, a strong screwdriver, and a large wrench. thats how i got mine off/back on when i changed my timing belt.

I will scan my haynes manual later if i can to show you what i mean. it has a good diag.

i would not drive it. you run the risk of damaging the crank bearings because of the loss of the harmonics. aside from the fact that if that pulley comes apart you'll lose your belts.

I just brace my breaker bar against the ground and kick the starter a couple times. it always works
