Apprently this is tubular from the 89 3sge 4-2-1 and It will fit on a 5sfe.

So if anyone has one, or can confirm this. I am interested

    Thanks

    Thanks Stig,
where could i source one? I would probably have to modify the B pipe too ?!

stig, could provide a full explanation for gen5/6 exhausts?

say i had a usdm oem gen 4 GE exhaust where it goes from header to front pipe is right in front of the starter
the gen5/6 seems to be further lower than that, roughly where the oil pan starts.

do you have a better pic of the front pipe incl. flexpipe, especially the end part near the end of the firewall?
if i get the gen5/6 manifold + the front pipe, would it just bolt onto the existing oem gen4 pipe, which would be the cat, followed by the long double L shaped pipe to the muffler? i don't want to spent more to get a shop to fab the rest of it...and i doubt i can afford to replace the whole system anyways

Gen 6 front pipe won't fit without mods. I had to lengthen it a bit after the flex part to clear the crossmember. Also, it has only one massive hanger at the end, which we had to cut down and weld a T16 style double hanger on.

It looked like this new (it's for the BEAMS Celica, but the only relevant difference I could see compared to the non-BEAMS gen 6 pipe is the position and type of the O2 sensor hole):

I'd say Lions pic is pretty much identical to the gen5/6 GE except the O2 sensor mounts in that flat area & there's no flex pipe.
I realise now that to use an O2 sensor near the steering rack you need a 3or 4 wire sensor to work properly. (an easy mod, the extra wires are for a heater)

You can mate it to the Gen4 exhaust but I suggest building a new exhaust the same size or bigger, the centre hangers are different so your exhaust guy will have to change the hangers and move/mod the flange.
In fact I moved the join forward (it had to be done anyway) sothat I no longer have to fiddle with crossmembers to get the exhaust/sump out -
a really cool mod I think, and I don't need to touch the O2 sensor either, saves hours of aggro

Stock GE starter clearance no problem
    [IMG]

Modded pipe has join in front of O2, flex pipe etc

Plenty of room, only problem I had was with dual rear mounted radiator fans

This is my mod from the top, I don't think the 1 wire sensor gets enough heat here though

Complete oem JDM gen5 system, rear silencer is swappable too, no cat
    [IMG]

O2 sensor is bigger as well

But some come with bigger adaptors

    Your exhaust is like this?

Wait, do the 5th Gen exhaust systems fit in our 4th gens?

If you mod the brackets - yes

You mean the hangers that attaches to the body?

I've been looking all over for the Pacesetter Exhaust system Part number 88-1393 but nobody has it in stock. (I dont believe they make 'em anymore)

All I've found were the 5th gens.

Now if all bends and length are exactly the same and all that's needed is the correct bracket locations, then consider the 5th gen exhaust system sold and installed.
