i remember reading all teh old threads and people were talking about the axles being a bitch... i cant remember why and im about to do mine, any reasons this will be hard. 86 gt-s quite sure the inner is flanged :|
The problem was - where the axle bolts up to the the axle section coming out of the Tranny- the bolts break- and the axle just goes nuts, under the control arm!! and when it breaks in traffic the brass plate on the inside goes rolling down the street causing people to hit thier brakes...... :lol:
yep on the ST and GT models the axle bolted up to the half shaft with 6 small nuts. Those would vibrate/break off. My last incident with my GT axle which led to the conversion to GTS axle was I shifted down and bang. It broke. Bending my shift cable and cracking my transmission. So If you got GTS axles than consider yourself luck. My GTS that I have in my drivway waiting for an engine has on GT style and one GTS style. WTF.
well i have my extra GE tranny sitting inside with the driver side still connected so i get to practice haha. strept throat dragging me down though
