What about AntiLock Brakes? Can they be added to our cars? i seem to remember a discussion about this before but searches have not been found .. otherwise would it be a good idea to replace a rear drum brake with a disc? I'm wishing for better braking to avoid another wreck.
i thinks some 4 gens came with abs not sure how a swap would work. as for rear drum conversions ive seen that so someone else will tell you exactly how sorry idk. glad your deciding to fix it would definitely be sad to see it go to junk yard especially if the wreck was not your fault ! also if you need the black front lip i have one not in best condition but its there can have it if you pay for ship you can have it or if your in the myrtle beach area ever let me no.
Discussion on swapping drums to discs here. Or you could pull the whole front and rear struts from a junker GTS and swap the lot over. Bosch make a universal ABS kit, but it's super pricey ($5k+) http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/content/language2/html/3720.htm . Other than that you'd have to look at adapting a system from another car.
some st162s came with them, but honestly, switching to the GTS set-up (disc front and back) is a BIG jump from the GT/ST disc front/drum rear. unfortunately, you do lose the 4x100 which is great for finding wheels and you have to swap to 5x100
