Valve Cover screw torque?

    Whats the torque for the valve cover on a 3SGE? My Haynes manual just said to do it until it is snug?

    Yeah that's about right, you don't want to do it up too tight and pinch the gasket.

    i do it until it stops spinning freely, plus quarter turn. the threads aren't that strong on the head so be careful! this is one of those cases where less is better then check once every few days and tighten loose ones.

    i replaced mine with regular bolts. then i kept over tightening them, resulting in leaks. went back to the ole phillips type with some blue locktight and a #3 screw driver and havent had any issues.
