Well After wiring up the starter fix I was over joyed to hear anything in addition the the radiator fan... But then... I quickly realized my situation... I heard a click at first so i said... well damn... I only put about 10 oz's of gas in the car and I've started and ran it several times since then... I'll just put some more in and try again... Click Click Click... Ok WTH!!!! Check my order on the relay... ALLL GOOD But just to check I did a quick tap of the battery to starter... WTF!? Turn + Die/click!? I had a similar issue with my other car... problem ended up being corroded terminals But the difference between my daily's problem and the celica's problem... The celica only "drains" from a strait tap... The celica just clicks and clicks rapidly... No drain... WHATS GOING ON!? QUICKLY STEVE TO THE EMERGENCY BUNKER! Tips and Tricks Appreciated... I'd like to note that my Battery has been relocated to the back of my vehicle...
you got both + wires right? we comp tested my JDM engine and only got the one + so it engaged the starter but didn't spin it
yea its wired up properly... I'll try to get audio recordings... its really weird... I get a pull from the car when i start it from a tap.. Could the wires not be flowing the current well enough!?
Our cars are known for crappy grounds. Make sure all your grounds going from battery to chassis, engine to chassis and any others are nice and good and clean.
what size wire are you running from your battery in the trunk to the starter? if its anything less than 2guage start there. then are you going directly from bat + to the starter terminal or do you break off into other stuff before the starter terminal? then you relay are you running it off of the starter terminal bat+? or all the way back to the battery? with a relocated battery you can run the relay directly off the power wire going to the starter terminal(main lug)
twice the size of stock wire is 4guage or possibly 2guage....the stock battery cable is usually 6g or 8g, the wire goes bigger the smaller the number, and it goes in doubles so 6g is twice the size of 8g and 4g is twice the size of 6g(roughly)
Where are you tying the ground at off the battery? The ground should be a short as possible. And if you are mounting it in the back make sure you bolt it to a good spot on the body, like the under the seat or something. Clean the paint off real well as well. You want the best metal to metal contact. You would also want to use an anti-oxidizer on that connection as well. I would recommend at least a #4 if not #2 wire.
maybe try putting the battery back up front til you get it sorted out? and like mafix said you need CCA's but if you're under 12.6V it's probably too dead.
