well, it all started after i replaced both of the front hub bearing about a month or two ago. i thought it would go away, but its still there. dont know what it is. but its coming from the front for sure. i checked to make sure everything in the front was and is tightened. so i dont know

Is it a metal to metal like sound, or more like some rubber to metal? I had such a sound from last year until now, and it was a wheel bearing dust cover.

might just be that. i'll have to double check. what it because it wasnt in all the way?

Sorry, I didn't see how it looks like when it was taken apart :S But the guy who swapped it told me that he could see what was touching what. And it was because the dust cover was old.
It can be bought as a set from Toyota, part number is 04422-20010 (for ST162). It contains 3 parts, the outer dust cover which is the one you probably need, a metal ring, and an inner dust cover which you cannot swap unless you buy a new wheel bearing too.

oh, nvm! i tightened the right axle nut yesterday. i guess that was the problem. now another one arises.....
for some reason, my axle nuts loosen over time. im not talking about a long time, im talking a matter of weeks. i over torque them too

There's supposed to be a lock washer and a cotter pin on the end of each shaft - by law
Same goes for all your ball joints and steering arms

Instant RWC/MOT fail if one is missing, a)you're taking a chance with your life
b)wrecking wheel bearings every time they come loose

I was missing the left washer n cotter pin a couple years ago, only realized when the nut came loose n killed the bearing. Scary part is a mechanic installed it like that. Get it sEen to asap!

Also Ive spent a lot of time n money chasing down squeaks n clunks. If it's working don't worry too much, the way old cars are eh

i got new washers with my new driveshafts, im sure its a generic part, and you can get the cotter pins at any hardware or parts store, get a mix pack and you will have pins for balljoints tie rods cvs etc

    cool.
just dont know where to get the washers though. the ones that come stock are more immune to rust and ware compared to those bought at any hardware store

its just a matter of getting the axle nuts off. they are pretty tough without the help of an impact gun

No, a pliers to remove the pin and the washer falls off
