Hey guys just have a question about my car It's sputtering quite badly , when I full lock my steering the car will stall, It's idling way too low. Of a morning I'll have to start it a few times before it actually idles okay without stalling. Sometimes when I come to the lights it does it also, rough idle then stalls. The car has a lack of power and hesitates sometimes when I accelerate, sorta lunges a few times then finally goes normal. Sometimes I can go a few days of it idling fine then it will sputter again, not to mention sometimes after going up hill it smells really bad. It used to backfire and pop before I changed the leads now the backfire has disappeared. The thing that confuses me is it doesn't happen all the time.. sometimes it wont stall and be fine other times it will struggle badly I have changed Spark Plugs, Leads, Dizzy Cap, Rotor Button had my throttle body cleaned and changed the afm. A few people have told me timing, some think it could be the fuel pump.
I've had all the exact same symptoms with mine for a long while now (minus the smell, that's interesting.. clogged cata?). Changed everything on your list there, too. A few people have mentioned the fuel pump to me as well (haven't had the time to check it out yet), so it might be worth looking into. Pressure tester near the filter, or tank - I've been told 33-38 PSI (thanks stars4bunny). If everything checks out with that, given the smell issue you mentioned... I'd look toward the cata..
