What kinda stuff would you guys reccomend as some basic performance mods for the 3S-GE? My rents might be getting me a JDM setup (if we can find one for a decent price) and a bunch of parts/work for my car, and I wanna know what to ask for. So far I've got:

    Engine
    Transmission
    ECU
    Intake
    Muffler
    Lowering Springs
    Struts
    Rims
    Tires
    Quarter panel
    Mudflap
    Mirror
    Rust repair
    Paint job
    Front bumper (Alltrac)

I'm not looking for anything too crazy, just some realtively easy to install parts that can boost the appearance/performance of my car. Thanks in advance.

Depending on what you want to do. Heres some things for basic performance enhancements. All of which are up for debate amonst everyone.

Ignition: You can go with something like an MSD, performance wires and perfromance plugs.
Or Just go with a performance plugs and Nology Hotwires.

You cant mix hotwires with an MSD igntion. It defeats the purpose of an MSD ignition.

    Get yourself a better intake.
Ditch your cat or gut it.
Ditch the stock exhaust and go with something that flows better. And no bolting on an autozone noize maker doesnt gain hp, although theres plenty of suckers out there driveing cars with a big silver can that now sounds like a lawnmower who think it does.

    Lightened crank pully
    Aluminum Flywheel.
Theres alot of little things here and there that you can bolt on to gain some hp. It wont be a huge gain, but a few here and there wont hurt.

crank pulley is the worst thing you could ever imagine...i would never ever get one
they don't have harmonics on them.

My old engine has the nice performance wires along with nearly new cap and rotor from Yota, I'll check the plugs when I swap it, if theyre good I'll keep em if not get something better.

I was planning to get that nice cold air intake off ebay. (the one with the piping and adapter)

The old "cat" is already a fake one (ie shaped like it but completely empty). The exhaust I was planning to keep for a bit, it's all within 2 years old cept the manifold and the muffler, which is a rusted hunk of junk anyways.

the flywheel I'll definately look into. Anyone have a reccomendation on an online source for it?

edit: went into the car to get my CD's out and remembered how long the shifer is. anyone know of a company that makes a shift shift for the 4g?

does anyone look at the support list i made?????

on the flywheel, it's much harder to drive the car with a lightweight flywheel.

Just take a hacksaw to it and cut off a couple inches...it does the trick since it already doesn't have a huge throw compared to most other cars...

that's what i did. cut 4.5" off and a uniersal shift knob. but i didn't want to get into any arguements from anybody about that.

Or you can be lazy like me and buy the one from TWM Performance. It only takes about hour to put in..

I hacked my gts shift nob. nice and short now, and the throw is very short. no complaints, no need for short shifter. Thats money better spent on exhaust header or springs/suspension, or replacing old/bad/worn out parts.
