Alright Update- I have got the engine completed- it came together really well- Now the next issue is the tranny, I have to get it mounted to the block and figure out the mount issues. once this is completed im estimating 209 HP- Im going to have to plan a trip to Washington and find a V6 to race lololol
Alright Alittle more progress- I have got the ECU- Mounted. Its alot easier removing the whole glove box to insert the Harness !!
Update- I ve got the engine and tranny mounted, I have got the wiring somewhat installed, I dnt want to think about if the speedo is going to work. Highlight- I cant find the damn tranny mount bracket- so the tranny is resting on the jack...... I should have all the fuel lines and misc. plugs completed- Im hoping to turn here over late tommorow.
Update day 1000+++ Well Ive the harness in the car- Now the problem I forseen is coming true- None of the harness plugs match going to the Speedo. And the harness that controls the fans and lights differ as well. for those who completed there swap How did you get it all mated??
Alright I got the engine mount done yes... And now I have 2 more issues..... I have no idea what to do here !!![/img]
Hey Mighty. I have completed this Gen2 swap in my 88 GTS. There are a few plugs you have to convert. You will need the yellow 4th Gen interior connector. I think you will need the female side. (The ST185 have all different plugs.) You will need those fuse box plugs from the 5th Gen Celica. All three of those plugs come on the GT, GTS 5th Gen. There should be three gray and white connectors that go to the ECU. The white connector has the cruise control, ABS, and AC wires which are not really needed. I used this website and both Gen electrical manuals to complete this swap: http://www.gtfour.ca/howtoswap.html http://www.celicatech.com/imagearchive/bgbonline/bgb.php I also used a wire tester to verify continuity to each end point. Example: The TPS, AFM, and turbo pressure sensor all use this pin called PIM. Its spliced somewhere in the harness into one wire that goes to the ECU. I found the wire in the ECU then tested the continuity between each one to make sure the right wire is going to the right ECU pin. I think the hardest part about the swap is not doing enough research and finding the right parts. I new nothing about the electrical part before the swap but now I can tell you where every color wire is and where it goes on the Toyotas. Here is what I used and my dyno numbers: 93 JDM 3sgte 93 JDM Mr2 ECU 93 JDM igniter (your model and make must match ecu) 88 GT Trans 88 GTS axels Gen 2 AFM Gen 2 Turbo Pressure Sensor Custom 3" stainless steel exhaust Koyo radiator Dyno at 232Hp to the wheels My swap is the white one in my thread http://www.st162.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=139 Thanks, Chris
Alright after some muchly needed help fron Mr. Synder- I "Think" I have the engine bay harness wired, ill turn the key tommorow to ACC and see if anything sparks...... I got a few pics of the progress, But its still in the MIDDLE STAGES OF CRANKING .... Enjoy. The last pic shows the AFM harness clips and I have no Idea what the other is....
http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f235/ ... icture.flv -This was done in the morning! Here is the life being blessed to me by the Toyota Gods- !!! http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f235/ ... ure050.flv
my god what a wiring nightmare. you need to check your fuel pump first. make sure that is turning on. then see if you got spark.
lololo mitt!!! If you need any help, let me know. and ill give you a hand. Ill race you with my r6 and see if you can keep up.
Update time !!!! I have burned 3 fingers. lololol I have gotten all the interior lights working (thank you ST165) - When I turned the key to the on position the BEAUTIFUL HALO of lights gleamed with joy !!! 3 Issues: 1- I cant crank the car with the key- I have to put the Single wire to the starter to try and crank it. 2.- I dont think Im getting any spark- while cranking. 3.- I dont have high beam lights when I pull the Lever back on the column. Man it felt so good to see the lights come on !
Well I figured out that I Dont have a Ignitor.... So im trying to find one !! and thats the last part that I have a loose Clip to !! I am going to have to make a drive to Fontana !
Cause I needed a "JSpec" Ignitor- and he was the closest and cheapest one I found- I had a few things to do today so first thing Ill be throwing it on And ill hope that it fires up !!!!
