they up your engine idile rev, then you turn the wheel. Helps engine turn P.S. pump under load, then turning steering wheel.

Those two hoses to that sensor can easily fall off .. especially if contaminated with oil or PS fluid. Replace with new and keep them clean. As stated before they will throw off your idle .. This is the first thing I check when my car is up on the rack.

runs like shit......wasnt sure what was wrong but she woundnt stay started unless i had the idle cranked up......found a broking stem on the air control valve........and yes they only help with idle on turning for your power steering...you can unplug the lines if you cap your vacuum line on the mani. thats how i got by till i got a new one installed from the yard.

Just block them. Not connect each over. Switch in P.S. pump open canal between them then pressure in p/s lines up and ups idile then You turn the wheel.

    just to clarify....

when the steering wheel is at full turn it will cause the engine to bog (added stress via the belt). the vacum lines and valve attached to the p.s. pump are made to counteract this by letting a small amount of air into the engine, in effect idling up a bit.
