I wish I could drive a red top beams in a 4th gen ... just to find out how that feels compared to my 3s-gte.

No problem. Although I didn't make a write up, but I guess I still can find the notes during the conversion.
I did the wiring myself with the cut ECU harness, and managed to connect all the ECU signals. :D

Thanks man that would be helpful, I've been doing my share of research on the beams forums for the sw20 swap, but once I'm done with mine, I would love to compile a wiring DIY. I know they have tach, and speedsensor problems if they don't change the tachometer , but I've seen beams swaps on the st162 with stock cluster, so I wonder if we don't have that issue.
Then I' need to research the fuel pump, if it needs to be changed etc, but step one is the harness and doing it right.

And your notes man, I wouldn't mind paypaling you a little bit,
    thanks again joe

    Hello,

Just an update after E56 tranny swap.

Modification from S54 setup to E56.

    1. Left tranny bracket.
Different bolt pattern, and E56 appears shorter, the bracket mounting moved to the right. You need to extend or widen the bracket to the left.
I believe GT4 brackets will do. For the meantime, I am using the drilled stock S tranny brackets and support.

    2. Front engine mounting bracket needs to extend further towards the front around 15mm. I am using spacers(nuts) at the moment. The motor needs to move further back to align it. I was not aware of this before, I have not checked previous engine alignment with respect to the engine bay or the strut towers. I dont think there's a difference between the S54 and E56 front mounting bracket positions from the engine block, needs further measurements to confirm.

    3. Rear mounting bracket modification. I have the St185 rear bracket and modified as described in 88V6Celi V6 swap. Drilled the center member rear mount holes further back and to the left. Had a problem in the first fitment, the rear mount was hitting the steering rack left bracket bolt. Additonal offset to the mounting holes and a modified rear mount rubber/bushing solved this.

    4. Axles. Used ES250/Camry outers and MR2 Turbo LSD inners.

    5. Shifter brackets. The bracket was moved to the right about 1/4 inch, and made 4mm spacers (rings).

    6. Rear end plate. Minor mod(bent) to clear the transaxle case cover (thick plate).

    Launch test...

I also have a USDM 4th gen with a Beams resting inside. My problem is, I can't find any info on the Levin clocks mod. I would greatly appreciate some help.

    1. What year Levin clocks do I get?
    2. How do I go about doing this mod?

    Thanks.

You mean the tachometer?speedo? well, you can use the old st162 tacho and modify it, for the speedometer you just need to swap the mechanical VSS on the new beams tranny.

Mine is using tach and speedo from ae111 levin/sprinter gauge cluster

    similar to this one http://imgc.classistatic.com/cps/blnc/121224/534r1/4770jfc_20.jpeg
