I just bought this car, a 1988 Celica GT-R, a private import which is pretty similar to the local Australian SX. It has some interesting features which I am not sure if they were available on local cars. Here's some photos... Outside views: And the engine bay (is this the original exhaust headers?): Inside views: Sports seats: ...with electric lumbar and sold bolster adjustment... Central locking and power window controls with auto feature: Sunroof controls: Automatic climate control system: And some cup holders in the centre console bin: I bought the car just as a temporary solution so if anyone is interested in buying it off me in the near future please let me know. In the mean time I will enjoy cleaning it up and returning it to as close as original condition that I can.
looks like a good old fashion GT-S. Probaby with a downpipe and looks like nice headers. nice looking car you got there
should not the gt-r have a el. adjustable suspension of some sort. and im 99.9999% sure that those are 2gen 3sge exhaust headers, :?
It is partly my crappy camera/photography skills... they are blue... except the top of the back seats have been in the sun too long and are turning purple.
you say thats its forsale once your finished restoring it?? i would love to purchase it off you if your still wanting to sell after you've put your own time into it, but they are great cars and you'll get attached i bet man it looks straight as already!! i love it and im loving the darker grey man! hows it running? smooth or in need of a bit of work? i like it lots!
It's not that I bought it to restore then sell. I bought it as an interesting car to get around in whilst I found the car I was really looking for (which has been very hard to find so far). But cars are my hobby and I won't be able to resist cleaning up the Celica and making it look as good as possible, and fixing any problems whilst I own it. It has a few issues which I am sorting out now like a few fluid leaks and noisy exhaust but the important things like the body and paint are really good and it drives better than any of the others I drove. There are also some other minor things as you can see by my list of parts wanted but these aren't important issues, I'm just a bit of a perfectionist. The previous owner spent about $2000 just 2,000km ago on head gasket, head service, timing belt, brakes, and other items. If you are interested let me know as I could find the car I want in as little as a a few days or as long as a few months.
