I just bought this car, a 1988 Celica GT-R, a private import which is pretty similar to the local Australian SX.

It has some interesting features which I am not sure if they were available on local cars.

    Here's some photos...

And the engine bay (is this the original exhaust headers?):

I bought the car just as a temporary solution so if anyone is interested in buying it off me in the near future please let me know. In the mean time I will enjoy cleaning it up and returning it to as close as original condition that I can.

It is partly my crappy camera/photography skills... they are blue... except the top of the back seats have been in the sun too long and are turning purple.

It's not that I bought it to restore then sell. I bought it as an interesting car to get around in whilst I found the car I was really looking for (which has been very hard to find so far). But cars are my hobby and I won't be able to resist cleaning up the Celica and making it look as good as possible, and fixing any problems whilst I own it.

It has a few issues which I am sorting out now like a few fluid leaks and noisy exhaust but the important things like the body and paint are really good and it drives better than any of the others I drove. There are also some other minor things as you can see by my list of parts wanted but these aren't important issues, I'm just a bit of a perfectionist.

The previous owner spent about $2000 just 2,000km ago on head gasket, head service, timing belt, brakes, and other items.

If you are interested let me know as I could find the car I want in as little as a a few days or as long as a few months.
