OK guys bit of a problem looking for some advice.

Striped the gt4 to put a new crank and bearings in her got her all back together but she wont run.
What happens is she will fire up fine now but she revs on 2000 rpm for about 40 seconds then slowly dies down and cuts out.she wont tick over.

I have put new plugs, leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap.
I think it could be air related any ideas welcome guys
    Many thanks

does she rumble around in the engine bay before she dies?.....check all of your vacuum lines...starter fluid WILL be your friend. did you time it when you inserted the new dizzy?, im sure you did but just asking.

just a quick question...Did you remove and clean your TB and IACV when you did your rebuild? how long does it run for before dying? Post a video? and maybe some detailed photos of your engine bay...maybe we can spot something wrong in some pics for you?

I did re time her but haven't been able to check to see if shes right because she won't run long enough to get the timing light on her. I have how ever checked her twice by the timing marks and shes spot on the marks with the rotor arm pointing at number 1.
I have been trying to work out the vacuum system because she has had the TVIS & EGR removed at some point in her life so a bit difficult to work out where the vacuum lines go and what should be blocked off,

I did remove the the TB but didn't clean it as it was pretty much spotless in their.
I also replaced the TB gaskets to and new injector seals. Will get some pics and a video today. Also my manual says the firing order of the dizzy cap is 1, 3, 4, 2, but i have 2 more celicas and they run perfect and the order on them are 1.2.4.3

is the big air hose going from your ISC under the TB connected to the air box? that was my problem...wasn't quite doing the same as yours though. as far as it taking a while to start, change out the ECU coolant temp sensor...mine had a green plug...it was like 14 bucks from autozone.

Doublecheck all of your vacuum lines to ensure everything is secure or capped off if not being used. post up some detailed pics of the engine bay...maybe we can spot something not quite right.

can you keep it running if you give it gas? what happens when you try and rev it?

I have changed the temp sensor. The hose does run to the air intake and she will stay running if i give her some gas all be it a bit rough

    Try swapping out MAF's?

follow this link to get detailed instructions on how to test a MAF with a voltmeter.
    http://bgbonline.celicatech.com/88alltrac/88alltrac_bgb.php
the scroll down on the left and select "service specifications" (once you've selected a category you have to use the "quick page jump" at the bottom or it wont work)
Use the quick jump to jump to page A-7 there you will see resistance measurements of the AFM.

I'm not sure what the pin-outs on it are...I know that they are somewhere in one of the books at this link.

or maybe someone else on here has them handy?

    So what was the issue?

It was the AFM plus the electrical plug to the dizzy, The wires had gone hard and brittle which had cracked and were shorting out
