Hey guys, I'm back!! officially an alltrac owner now! All the history I know: - Canadian car, 165k km's, leather, a/c, abs, power options, heated side mirrors, sunroof. - Car got into an accident on the front left, front left damage, passed inspection in 2006, was never insured again since, and title was never changed to "rebuilt" from "salvage" - Full respray was done in 2006, garage parked until 4 months ago. First drive: - Only boosts to about 3/4 on the boost gauge, but pulls strong as it is. is there a "low boost" mode like in the mr2's? - original radio works phenomenal. lots of audio range! - rear window wiper doesn't work, but everything else works, including the heated side mirrors! Exterior: - Fogs/lower grille in a box in the trunk, hood is lower than the surrounding panels by a smidge. - Overspray in the wheel wells. - Sunroof has no rust!!! Interior: Steering wheel leather in crappy shape, but leather shift knob looks brand new... Appropriately enough 165165km Engine bay:
Welcome back Marc ! It has been a long time and good to see a familiar face on here again. Hope things are well with you. That looks a real beauty you've got there and as you say, what a great stereo ! Are you going to get decals for tailgate ?
hey guys, nice to hear from familiar people! decals are enroute from our friendly forum decal maker. i'm going with white decals as i don't fancy the red+grey color combo. currently looking for a good condition rear subframe to pass inspection, but i'm likely just going to repair this old one. dave, i've been waiting for one since i got rid of my gts, so it's definitely a unicorn that's for sure
I'm pretty sure you can also use a 185 or 205 rear subframe. I know for sure the differentials are the same shape as I have a 205 LSD diff in my 165. I think I checked the part number for the subframe and all 3 gen's are the same
yes i've heard that from the alltrac guys, so the hunt is on for one...i just missed out on a 165 subframe down in seattle.
thanks! new subframe is on, from an 89 Camry Alltrac (exact same part number). hopefully on the road in the next month or so...
Hey Rick, actually it was from Surrey. Quite a nice car but shame about the salvage title. still working out some frame issues on it.
Welcome back, lovely alltrac, wish mine was in same good shape body wise. Skickat från min D5803 via Tapatalk
Absolutely! PM me your number. And yes, so far it's been pain with hints of joy. A few updates: Broken front corner light fixed Broken rear right tail light fixed Front end changed back to proper facelift tails Fogs plugged in and working great! (missing centre grille) Someone had put in an aftermarket boost controller and disabled Turbo VSV. someone also took it out and never put the car back to the correct vacuum lines. Now has been fixed and we're getting a healthy 8psi in 2nd/3rd. I haven't taken it far enough to try out the higher gears. GT-Four decals acquired thanks for our in-house forum decal maker! Unfortunately recent issues: water pump weeping lots. gonna have to do the timing belt with it, no big deal. some pics for you guys: New Decals, thule roof rack, my parents' new addition to the Toyota family, and a super rare item. Yes, an OEM car cover. I was hoping it was also for the MR2 AW11 as well as for the Celica like the box seems to illustrate, but it just shows some of the other car covers Toyota sold. This one is specifically for the Celica Liftback, yay! ripping it apart for frame repairs: front left frame is pushed back 0.7mm. it just needs to get pulled forward and we're all set.
Those decals are very nice. I see you've got the stock rims; what brand of tires are you running? Tough finding 206-60-14 tires anymore...
it came with 195/60-14 tires on it and they're mismatching front and rear winters. fronts are pirelli and i forgot what the rears are. i actually prefer 1 size smaller for winter tires compared to stock sizes as it helps "cut" through snow, so this works for me. check these out: http://www.onlinetires.com/products/vehicle/tires/federal/205%2F60-14+federal+ss-595+89+bsw.html I plan to autocross this car and once i find 1993 GTS wheels, it will wear 205/50/15 bridgestone RE71R or Direzza Z2 all around. the above wheels are the biggest stock-legal wheel I can use for scca stock/street class. diameter can be +/- 1inch (15inch), width must be the same (6"), offset must be within +/-5mm (+39).
Ultimate collision in Coquitlam. Our landlord is the square/pull guy there. It's noticable because the unibody under the car is wavy due to the scrunch.
