So i want to make a functional vent for my alltrac because they get so goddamn hot. I've heard multiple times that a vent helps sooo much. So basicly i want to cut a hole kindof like mafix did, but more like this.

now i need to know wut tools to use, tips, trick, shit like that would be awsome.

    thanks ahead of time

Most important tool a Black Marker, Then a disc cutter/ or a blow torch (my preference), And thier you go your vented- But from what ive seen its hard to balance where to put the vents- since the intake are on top- and if you cut a vent for the exhaust the heat goes right into the intercooler......

    :!: IDEA!

    >>> CUT THE VENT FOR THE EXHAUST, BUT THEN FIBERGLASS AN INTAKE THAT SITS ON TOP OF THE HOOD AND FORM THEM LIKE A SET OF BULL HORNS !!!!!!!! THAT WAY WHEN DRIVING THE INTERCOOLER DOSENT SUCK UP ALL THE HEAT GIVING YOU MORE HORSIES!

I used an angle grinder with a metal cut-off wheel for mine....turned out decent and all I did was mark it with masking tape, then cut, no measuring or anything..haha... Still turned out ok...but it needs to be painted and bondo'd a little bit more....

Hmm..i think the AT hood scoop is way better looking than the vent look IMO, i might do this sometime this summer.I have an extra hood so. .

Sorry I don't even have any pictures with it smoothed out with bondo....and I put half a grille from an 87 gt-s in the vent too so it matches my front end!

    well you can buy this
    http://www.erebunicorp.com/accesscustom/univhs.htm (scrol down to celica)
and mold it in. That would be interesting....

if only i had an extra hood to play with. I really dont have 136$ to spend on a freakin scoop... i'll try playing with photoshop to get a design for a cut.

this one looks sweet but not sure what it would look like on a 4th gen celica..
096HS Universal Impreza Style Hood Scoop 24"x17"

otherwise i'd go with this one
PA259A Universal Celica WRC Style Hood Scoop 2 hole 28"x20"

2 hole looks heaps better.. i hate the one, just looks offsided

If you happen to decide to try a fiberglass hood scoop, and want to install it so it looks like it's not taped on.. here is the trick:

    1) Set the scoop on the hood, tape it down, and sharpie an outline of it onto the hood.

    2) Take it off, and retrace the line, but this time, stay to the inside of it by about 1/2". (ie, make a new outline, smaller than the other one, inside)

    3) Cut out the smaller outline.

    4) Go buy a panel flanger. Buy a cheap vice-grip one if you need to, or a nice pneumatic one.

    5) Flange the panel downwards along the outer line.

    6) Now, when you set your scoop in, the hood lies level with the edges of the scoop. Attach it permanently, and then you can use some bondo to smooth the transition a little bit.

It works too. Check out Mafix's hood. Pics are somewhere on here. Did the same thing.
