Can i swap the 2nd gen camry's break setup on to my celica ST i think they are 5 lug or am I thinking of the wrong car.. i would swap it with the SX break setup to go from 4 to 5 lug but there are fuck all SX's where i am or is there another car that is a direct bolt on thats compatible with my car?
camry brakes - haha, thats detuning go with all factory 5x100 or 4x100 [st - hmm] discs, 5x100 you have VAG discs from 255 to 312mm , 4x100 ex. pug 205 gti 305mm next thing is caliper - vag are good and cheap, also bmw and you must change servo and pump - in celica its horrible, good option is nissam pump and servo after 95 year
heh my bad i was never good at spulling will the st184 brake setup upright and all just bolt right on? never seen anyone do it.
I'm putting them on mine, i have the calipers/rotors already. I'm pretty sure they will bolt straight on, might have to modify the dust sheilds though.
Hey man get the rear 5 lug disc setup from the 86'-89' ST162, it's easier to get the entire rear hub and carried assembly in whole. Next find the front hub assembly for the 5 lug ST162, then pair it with the rotors and calipers from the 94'-99' GT. When it's all togather, you have your 5 lug setup and a much larger rotor/caliper combo up front. The ST162 front rotors are 255mm in diameter, whereas the 94'-99' GT stuff is 275-277mm depending on application. Also this is the setup I'm going to be running on my GTS racecar, and believe me, it's easier to find performance brake parts for the 94'-99' cars. A good source for these brake parts are either www.tirerack.com or www.brakeworld.com . I currently run Hawk pads all the way around, with HPS in the rear and HP-Plus in front, along with Goodridge SS brake lines and Russel Speed-Bleeders for better pedal feel and maintenance. If you can find rotors with lightweight alloy center hats, that bolt to the rotors, by all means buy them, this will reduce the rotational mass and make for much improved performance. racerb 8)
