nice stance. is your car dropped at all? how the gap from the outside fender? i may be able to score one for pretty cheap without any rubber. ... what tire siZe are you using?

it will fit without any problems, the rears you can add up to a 20mm spacer without rubbing on the fender as well. you'd want to use 205/45-16 tires, but if you use a 20mm spacer, you can use up to 205/50/16

Car has Kings supa low springs in those pics, 50mm drop I believe.
Car now has Tein adjustables so I can lower as much as I want.
Spacing on the front could do with 10mm spacer and rear needs 20mm spacer. (same as stock)

Tyres are 205/50/16 (Bridgestone MY01) - the speedo overreads by 10-15% and I have tried different speedo drives but they all read the same so I'm looking at using 215/50/16 or similar to bring down the speedo

Using 205/45/16 and I'll be looking at an overread of around 20%, ie 120km/h @ 100km/h

thanks... just saw a set of super advan v1 for a good price... ill be considering that one as well... just don't know if it'll fit...

16x7 +32 Front 16x8 +32 Rear. but it is 5x114.3 so i still need to use an adapter... what do you think?

nope. you'll have the wheels stick out too far past the fender.

the smallest safest adapter you can run is 20mm spacer/adapter with it's own studs. when you have that +32 offset, it becomes +12. it's okay for the strut housing, but the rear is going to be 0.75 inches into touching the fender. you could stretch 195/50/16 tires on the 8 wide, but you'll also need to roll the fenders...might get away with it, but it's a tough call.

either way, not worth the trouble.

true. thanks. btw, can you educate me as to how you calculate for it. so that i do not have to ask eah time i find a wheel that i like. is it hard to figure out? i was reading the sticky about tire sizes but i cannot comprehend such massive reading. please. thanks.

well any wheel is going to have an offset. +39 is the stock celica offset, and that means the wheel is closer to the inside of the car by 39mm.

if you had a 0 offset wheel, and it's 16x7, you'd have a 7 wide wheel, with even width on either sides. so the wheel would stick out towards the fender 3.5inches from where the wheel attaches to the hub, and also 3.5 inches to the inside of the car from where the wheel attaches to the hub.

+ numbers move the wheel towards the inside, - numbers move the wheel outwards. a 25mm spacer would be moving the wheel outwards so you would subtract the spacer size from the offset number. it's important to remember that both metric and imperial numbers are used here, 16x7 is the wheel dimensions in inches, offset numbers are always in metric in millimetres.

i found out that it would be 0.75 inches sticking out because i compared my 16x6.5 wheel at +14 offset(with 25mm spacer) with your 16x8 + 12 offset(with potential 20mm adapter/spacer). my set up touches the fender ever so slightly

is the spacer a must for the rears? why can i just directly mount it wihout using the spacer so it wont stick out that it would hit the fender? even if i rolled he fender will it still rub?

because you said you'd be using 5x114.3 wheels, which requires an adapter, which always doubles as a spacer. and rolling it will only help depending on your tire selection. if you stretch narrower tires, you'll have a bit more space

if you were talking about the stock 7th gen wheels, you'll have no problems with no spacer, and be okay with a spacer until 20mm

yeah i forgot about the adapters. i guess ill stick with the 7th gen for now and resell the advans if im getting it.

I got the 7th gen gts wheels... for the price i got it for i am not complaining... it definitely need some cleaning and refurbishing... what rubber size should i use for it??? i want the speed reading to be accurate so i was thinking 195/50/16 but how come most people who have these rims use a 205/55 or a 205/45 profile tires?

I got the same wheels and I use them with 195/50 tires, they are okay, and stock diameter. 205/45 is about the same diameter as well, 205/55R16 is too much for a T16 in my opinion. It either won't fit in the rear or would be very close to the strut.

Finally ready to buy rubbers for these rims. Which size do you suggest? 195/50/16 or 205/50/16? i will be lowering the car with b&g... I wont be using spacers for now.

i'm about to pull the trigger on a general tire g-max as03 on a 195/50/16 size... OTD price is $330 less $50 rebate, and another $30 for using carcareone card from DiscountTireDirect... Hopefully the 195's will fit well on the 7th gen rim...
