5g engine swap

well one of my buddies with a 5g had his gas tank go, so if my gas tank will fit his, and I part my car, his will survive. if it won't fit, then he might part his out, and I need to know if I could steal his engine in an attempt to save my Celi from being torn apart

it's a 3S-FE I believe, I know it's an FE and not the 2.2L (that was the 5S-FE right?) and I'm wondering how hard it would be for me to put it in my car. It would have a complete harness, all sensors and ECU, is there anything crazy I would have to do to make the swap? Or would it be moderately simple?

    5th gen had the 4afe and 5sfe

so there would be some mount changes and some fun wiring for an overall power decrease :D

if its an st model then its definatley teh 4afe and i would not suggest swapping it into yours, not even to get buy becuase you will have to cut and weld mounts.....(im dealing with something very similar right now)

if it is a gt or gts then it is the 5sfe 2.2ltr and it will swap right into yours and give you good power, might still have a little wiring problems to contend with

well his is a GT but it's not the stock motor, I know he was wanting fuel economy (it's a freaking 4 banger either way) so I'll have to double check. either way its sounding like I wouldn't be able to get it in within a week.

if you could figure out what motor is in it than it should be easy, if its a gt it has to have an "s" engine is a 2.0 or 2.2 if its a 2.0 its a 3sfe or ge that means he did wiring work on his 5th gen, but you wouldnt need to do wiring work on your 4th gen if its a 3sfe or 3sge if its a 3sfe you should be able to just swap in the 3sfe computer and all sensors should plug in(though i could be wrong)
