I'm in the middle of swapping in my 1st gen jdm 3sge, I know the us market produces 135 and the jdm produces almost 160.
Also Does anyone know if only the jdm market had the more powerful ecu or other markets as well were uped in hp and if the auto and man ecus are the same.

Looking for a fair price .
    Thanks

Don't forget some big differences between USDM, JDM and EUDM celicas... think about the gas... here (Netherlands) RON95 is minimum you can get and our celica's are programmed for this. In Japan it's RON99 or higher I believe so other programming. USDM has RON81?? So also programmed to use that fuel which is of a less quality so less power.

There is also EGR differences.. No EGR means purer air so more power.. Probably some more reducers in USDM as the power difference is so big ! We have around 150 hp on my non -catalyc 3S-GE. It also has no o2 sensor :)

There are differnces between auto and manual ecu's so you can't just swap them i believe.

I might have a EURO 3S-GE ECU for sale ... I'm just not sure what pricing to handle as they are quite rare.

    Small addition:
Euro 150hp is without the catalytic converter, the ones that have it are rated 140hp.

    USDM/AUD/CAN 3SGELC (both egr and 02 systems)
    -86'-20160 (8/85-7/86)
    -87'-20110 (8/86-7/87)
    -88'-20110
    -89'-20320

JDM 3SGELU (no egr but has 02 system)
    -86'-20150
    -87'-20150
    -88'-20150
    -89'-20310 (8/87-12/88)
    -20311 (1/89-7/89)

EURO 3SGEL (no egr no 02 systems)
    -86'-20180
    -87'-20180
    -88'-20180
    -89'-20180

-so you'd want the 20150. big thread in technical. "3sge ecu guts", or something like that. im retarded and have forgoten how to link. I have yet to find any info that the euro makes less power than JDM Ive always thought they were the same output. there is no noticable power difference between jdm and euro, both DO have more power than usdm. its worth noting that the euro does make the exhaust smell leaner...for whatever thats worth.

-not sure what year your driving, but youd need to match the year of your car with the ecu you get. there are differences in the wiring harness. so if you had usdm 89 gts youd want JDM 20310 ecu. i run the 20150 in my 86, works great!

why would the euro cars have no o2 sensor?? that makes no sense, dosent the ecu need that info to run right.

i would love to see dyno differences simply by just swapping the ecu...and jdm injectors + egr block off plates right?

-maybe when i finally go in to have the cams tuned....dyno time aint cheap though. but yes, i would love to. jdm injectors are the same. but yeah no egr.
-not sure why no o2 on the euro. there is some q's about if the euro has different comp and cams though. power feels the same as jdm but the exhaust smells like im running lean(?) when i use it....seems like it would run richer if the comp and cams where different.

-just fyi, i've in essence built a brand new jdm motor, w/ ecu, bored over (clean up), w/ cam. every thing in there is new or refurb, and am making 126hp at the front wheels. the next step is to tune the adjustable cam gears and afm to see if i can squeek out a bit more.
