Figured i'd post ll of the pics from the original and some new ones ive come across. Its been 8 years so its time for a new post lol.
I bought her in early 2007 for $2000.00 USD. I put an add on craigslist for a Celica Alltrac and got about 20 emails from people trying to sell me corolla and camry alltracs. So i gave up and about a month later a guy emailed me saying his buddy had what he was pretty sue was a turbo celica and he had been trying to sell it for a few years with no luck. So i called the tracs owner and he said that the engine and tranny were out of the car but there was a 25k JDM engine waiting to go in.This guy was the 2nd owner of the car. It came from Bellvue washington and had been bought brand new by a man who later handed it down to his son who abused her hard. The original motor had had a short and hard life. with only 70k on the clock she had spun a bearing on #4 and thrown a rod on #1. The kid who originally owned it drove it to Montana for college around the time the 1st fast and the furious came out. well turns out he thought he was paul walker or something and he ran her too hard (DANGER TO THE MANIFOLD!!!) and smoked the poor 3sgte. He then sold her to the gentleman i bought her from, who then pulled the motor and trans, ordered a JDM engine, powerwashed the engine bay and thats where it all stopped. the car sat until i bought her in 07. I towed her home 260miles on a flatbed trailer and began work right away. I stripped all good parts from the original engine and chucked the block. which i greatly regret. i knew a fair amount about the 4th gen but the alltrac is a completely different monster under the hood. thanks to the help of Mafix and many others i fixed her shredded harness, worked out man little problems, replaced the afm and got her back on the road within 4 months. Then she developed a nasty vaccum leak that i later traced to the TVIS plunger. 380.00 later i had a new tvis assembly and i was in business. she still idles around 1300rpm. (still cant figure out why) Over the years ive swapped the tranny to a 5th gen Group A transmission, supra ct26 exhaust wheel, eXedy triple plate clutch, VP boost controller and a VP 3inch exhaust from the downpipe back, constant fan mod, retrofitted the altmeter into the cluster,17in wheels that are about to be changed for some 15's (17s are too rough)
This car has always been the love of my life, ive owned many 4th gens, a few 5th gens a few 1st gen MR2's and a MK1 and MK4 supra, and i still get that smirk on my face when my old trac crushes a 5.0 mustang or teaches the wrx kids and the little vtec dorks that before the STI and the S2000 an AWD predator stalked the streets and with a little modding here and there it can still leave your K22 or EJ20's mouth hanging open as it tears past you in 2nd gear. Sorry for the long winded story, im feeling nostalgic.

4 different set of rims I counted on those photos haha. 5 spoke ones in the middle look best IMO.

yeah those silver 15inch 5 spoke Borbet wheels were on of my favs. Im actually thinking about putting them back on, 17's ride waaay to rough and my broken spine doesnt thank me lol. Im thinking about sanding the 15's down and shooting them like a gun metal color. any thoughts?:eng101

Oh and LMFAO at the Fast and Furious comment, I laughed so hard I woke my girlfriend up.

I had these bronze coloured 17s on my red ST162 and I liked it.

Looks good. Why does the front look lower than the rear though?

you know ive never really been able to find out why the cars stance is like that. those are stock springs and kyb AGX adjustables on the front and the rear has KYBs as well. Im not really sure why it sits with a rake like that. some of the pictures make it look pretty extreme but the front is only about a 1/4 of an inch lower than the back.

Are your springs aftermarket? I had super low king springs on my old one and had the same thing, just not as bad.

nope stock springs and the struts are almost brand new. Unless someone before me swapped in a non alltrac spring but ive never changed the springs so as far as i can tell they are stock 165 springs. The differnce in height is really minimal i'd say less than 1/2 an inch and ive got no problems with rubbing or anything. I'd really like to raise the car actually, i used to use the car for the River Rally we have here where you race 17 miles in a dry river bed, mostly sand and gravel. This summer when i get the time im gonna build a rally style skid plate under it and encase the drive shaft and rear diff, and start rallying it again.
