so ive been looking at rims for sometime now and decided on these.. http://www.rotawheels.com/wheels.asp?wheelid=42 ive been too 2 wheel places on the coast and both have said that 7.5j 17" +35 will fit all round, what i want is for the wheels to completely fill the archs so no hand nor finger can get past the tyre they even mentioned 19's would fit -_-.... did alittle looking and measuring myself and it looks like 7.5 +20 at the rear and 7.5 +40 at the front or even 7j +40 at the front will fit, 7.5 +35 at the front just looks like the guard is gonna eat the tyre all day long and the rear strut will munch the sidewall all day long, so i wanted to get your opinions
you can fit 44" wheels your car, it will just be 4 feet in the air lol. 19s wont clear, not without some loving. you would need to raise the car, roll the fenders and run the thinnest tires possible. stick with 17s and save the trouble
nice style of rim. I run 17" rims, 7.5" wide with a 35 ET, fit well. To get that car / rim look I think you are after, you need to consider some really low springs. King springs or intrax seem pretty low. This is on my race 16" rims. It can be done pretty easy, but do think about changing your shox, as short low springs tend to be very stiff, due to the lack of coils, stiff springs will ruin standard shocks. Make sure you are not running you car so low its on the bump stops, otherwise you will suffer terrible handling.
yeah getting lowered kings with kyb shocks all round at some stage, just want these wheels to fit and yes i do understand i can have 44" wheels with epic love and money and no taste and whatever, but want these to fit no prob, no spacer etc etc hence the +20 rear question
The only issue I have had with my 17" rims was when I added neg camber, then at the rear it got a bit close with the spring cup. apart from that its all good. The front should be fine, you may have to fettle the arch guard but should be easy enough. 7.5" with that offset is a straight bolt on for me, so dont see it any diff for you.
I lowered my car 1.7 inches and I rubbed on my fenders pretty good...and that's with my stock 205/60/14's. Of course that's probably just because of the huge tire wall I have
Def the big sidwalls would make a diff, I run 205 40s on my 17s stretched slightly over the 7.5" rim, so the sidewall is minimal.
just raising this from the dead, found a nice set of 17" x 7.5jj but with 25 et these gonna fit on my 162 or probably not, or no way in hell? i dont mind if i have to do light modding to arches...
hey guys i picked up a cheap setof 17" radius alloys there the last day, i got them off a st202 celica and theres all brand new thread on them! got them for €120, i think its the bargain of the century with alloys, im thinking bout getting them sandblasted and powdercoated, in white to go on my red celica... what do ye all think?
205-!45!-17 holy tall tire! and a dunlop at that. a good buy but i would expect to get 30K km's out of them
ya!!! two dunlops!! i know!! i know what your saying about dark copper but that would look sweet on a black car... i dont think it would look as good on a red one... has anybody got a red celica with white rims?? just to post a pic? the dunlops hold great but at the moment there on my friends st182 so thats what im goin by... i dont want to put them on mine as my 4th gens struts and bushes are all pretty much screwed!!
ok... i think they were a real bargain now ... there the older style but if you can just get a glimpse of these it will give you a rough price on what they would have been new!! http://www.motorspeed.com/store_mai...d=74&int_subcategory_id=0&int_product_id=2633
