Yep another starting thread :S

    Hmm... where to start, well i havent driven the celica in about 6months and i went to fire her up the other day and it didnt fire! cranks fine just wont bloody start! I have recently put a new timing belt on and dizzy and i just put a new battery in new sparkys, I have checked the resistance of the ign coil and its within spec according to the haynes manual (3sfe) the only other thing i have done since then is pull the alarm out as it cought on fire dont ask me how :p i got no idea, anyways im stumped it has fuel in it but its 6 - 7 months old.. any help would be sweet.

    umm take the leads off and crank it ? so it builds are pressure ?

    then chuck them back on and give it a shot ?

    you mean the spark plug leads that go to the dizzy? hmm ill try it tomorrow not sure how it would help though.

    Might be the fuel, I have had starting issues with really old petrol, but sounds more like a timing issue.

    Are you getting sparks from the plugs? check this first, your alarm may off had an imobilizer that is cuting electrical power or indeed the fuel pump.

    Are you getting fuel, check that when its turning over the pump is working, pull of the pipe that goes to the injectors and check.

    Sorry I know its the basics, but normally this should help.

    Check all your earth straps too, I once had a car non start because of a loose earth lead.

    To help troubleshoot fuel problems you can temporarily jump the fuel pump at the diagnostic connector. Connect E1 (power) to FP (Fuel Pump) with a small wire. This will send power to the fuel pump directly. If the car starts, then you have an issue getting power to the fuel pump.
