I see about a dozen or so S54 transmissions in the PNW area from various junkyards. They range between 300-450.

hey if anyone can chime in on this, when did they start using electronic speedo cable? ideally i want to get a '99 trans, but if they changed over to a electronic speedo earlier than that then i'll have to stick with the most recent year of the cable style one.

thanks a lot zaluss, that's going to help a lot!

i've got my s54 now (ironically only a few blocks from rickstar22's place) so we'll see how the speedo drive fits

It doesn't matter if the transmission comes with an electronic speed sensor or not. You can switch it out to a cable driven sensor.
