First of all, what's currently wrong with it? Does it start-up run? Tranny/clutch issues? We need more background info :?

i think the mounts are going out too. when i start in a low gear it shakes like crazy. sometimes its really bad. depends on how hard i press on the gas when i'm at a low gear.

anyways. the starter takes awhile to give my car juice. sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes to get it started. i already did that modification to it that was posted on here for my starter. after that my car started every time. but now, it takes a while to actually start like i said earlier.

for my transmission. it grinds second and third once my car warms up. and how its starting to slip when i get into third and start my acceleration. it goes like: vuurrroooom, tum, tum, vrooooooooommmm, tum, vrooom and then its good again. you have to drive it to feel it, unless you know what i'm talking about.

my clutch is also slipping too. i was told when i change my clutch to change my flywheel as well because i'll have to resurface the flywheel anyways. so, if i get a clutch i want to get a flywheel as well. but when i race it you can hella hear the lag before it catches on. but, i'm still proud of my ST! can take 94 soobies all the way. lol at least the lowest model.

Clutch/Tranny would be priority. As for the engine, I'd start with the basic tune-up - Plugs, wires, Dist cap and go from there to further troubleshoot.

hey kevinkyang, definitely get that clutch taken care of. about 400+ to have it done by a local place called clutchmart. they are good people. as for the starting problem, new plugs, possibly new wires and cap like K said. also, how new is your battery and alternator? i got some free time coming up soon, if you want i can take a look at your starter relay mod.

I'm not sure what to say about having to do the starter relay mod, I've never had any issues w/ the 3sfe starter or the cold start injector.

Check and or replace you intake filter, that maybe choaking your motor a bit.

As for start-up idle, should be a little high 1500 or so, then taper off to 800. If your idle is too low and needs a little adustment, there's a screw. If you are doing the full tune-up, you will need to re-adjust your idle again by the idle adjust screw.

turn the car on then adjust the screw. its ok to do that. clockwise will raise it i believe and counter clockwise will lower it. not 100% sure on that, but just mess with it then check your rpms. good luck. i may call you later after work. i aint got class. u possibly free this week. i will take a look at your st and you can check out my gt-s.

thats normal. right now with our wather it should be around 1800-2k rpm at start up. drop to 1500 and then fully warmed up it should be around the 800 rpm mark. start your car, let her get to normal opperating temp, go for a drive or something, leave it on. if it aint at the 800 mark at a dead stop with the engine up to temp then adjust the screw to get it in the 800 range. good luck! i will see about tomorrow then. will call ya

Ok so when it shakes like you said, is it sputtering like you have no gas? Where's the RPM's at when this happens? Is the AC on (button pressed)?

nope. when i drive my car sometimes when i turn on my ac the rmp drops. it used to die when i turned it on, but now the rpm drops and my car begins to shake like an old man. then when i turn it back off the rpms go back up and its all good again. and sometimes when i turn it on the rpm jumps up like 500. so, its weird and complicated sometimes, actually all the time. it works when it wants too.
