alright well im trying to decide whether or not i should put the limited amount of money i have into my car to try and fix it up or if i should just forget it use it till I'm done school if it makes it till then (at which point it will likely be much more rusted then it is now and beyond the point that it would make any sense to fix it) and then dump it for something with no rust and more power potential. I'm having problems cauz how unique the car is and i like how it looks.

    the problems right now are:
rusted front fenders (need new ones asap or rest of car will start to rust quickly)
starting to rust in rear wheel well
    pinch weld has minor rust
small oil leak (from dented oil pan)
small power steering leak (fix not needed)
fuel lines sweat (need to be fixed in next yearish)
rusted windshield piece (that metal thing just under the wipers is rusted)
    bottom of rear bumper rusting
muffler rusted out, rest of exhaust starting to rust out (already getting muffler and front bit from person on forum :D )

my guess is that most ppl will say fix it but try and see the other point of view lol

If I had your car for a day I could remove 90% of that rust, compared to mine it would probably be a cake walk. If say fix it, grind off all the rust and throw some tremclad on!

The front fender's aren't directly attached to your car with any bare metal really so if they're rusted the rest of the car isn't going to rust just because of that....

lol meph wanna take my car for a week?
the bottom rocker closest to the fender is basically totally rusted out wont that make the rust spread back faster?

anyone know where i can get some new fenders for a decent price?

oh and the tranny is notchy in 1st, 2nd and its a pain to get into reverse (sometimes grinds into R)
and the car should really be repainted but i can do without that obviously.

^^ my R grinds most of the time , pop her into 2nd but dont let out the clutch and then go into R and sometimes helps

do you think It's worth fixing? that's what it boils down to.

It just came to me  Here's what you should do... Remove fenders, remove rear 1/4 panels, remove doors, bumpers, hood, hatch, add rollcage, add nitrous, and last but most Importantly mount machine guns to deal with all the cops that will surely try to pull you over. hahaha

And if your really ambitious oil slicks and flame throwers would be a nice touch.

    *edit whore*

Then you'll be ready for the post apocolyptic times brought on by $20/gallon gas

ya i've been doing a lot of stuff like that. another thing that helps is very slightly lifting your foot off the clutch. for me that normally makes it pop right in, but dont go too high or it will grind.

and i think that i'm gunna price out some stuff/ see what some of the fixes will cost me and from there i will decide if its worth it either way.

Well if you really like the car you can try and slow down the rusting process and maintain the rest of the vehicle so that you could use it for parts in the future and search for a replacement 4th gen when you can afford it.

You could allways get a pretty rust free one shipped up from the states.
