When i bought my ST162, the people at the car yard said they washed the engine and the spark plugs got wet. Now once i replaced the plugs and leads, i found out that the gearbox also needs replacing, so that leaves me to think that maybe they wet the plugs on purpose so that i couldn't test drive it properly. I usually wouldn't buy it in that condition, but i had travelled a fair way, and didn't want to go back again, as well as them assuring me the car drove fine. But i cant see where the water could get in without pulling the leads off?
water shouldnt have got the plugs wet, it could have got your distributor cap wet and that could have caused a problem. When i detailed my engine this happened to me even when i wrapped the dizzy in plastic. I used air to blow mine out but if you dont have acess to air take your cap off and dry it like a mad man.
No, there was definently water inside, i seen it with my own eyes. That is why i think they may have intentually done it. And why i am asking if there is any other way the water could have gotten there?
only if the engine sucked it in through the intake or it was poured into the plug holes. Its possible if the car was running while they sprayed the engine that it sucked water in.
Ive got no other ideas on how you'd get water in your cylinders unless you got a blown headgasket or something like that.
Thats messed up man. I wouldnt doubt it though there are som messed up people out there who do that kind of crap all the time.
