1987 GT coupe. Manual windows and locks. So if i lock it from the inside, I cannot open it from the inside, however if I try to open it from the outside, it opens! I then found that if I hold the lever up when closing the door it stays locked (phew). Looks like someone took a screw driver to the door at one point, so at the very least I have to get a new lock cylinders. This happens on both sides by the way. Passenger side looks good, no damage. So it will lock, but I have to hold the outer door handle up for it to stay. We're in the middle of a rainstorm so I haven't been able to really look at it.
but you can open it regular any other time from the inside? when you go to lock it you have to either use a key or hold the handle up for it to stay locked, thats normal.
Whaaaat??? If i lock it from the inside, I can't open with the inside lever. Thats odd. Well then I guess all is well with the locks.
