vert top.

Discussion in 'Diagnosis/Help' started by southcountycustoms, Jun 16, 2008.

  1. ok so my top only goes down with the switch if i open it about half way first and then the last 2 inches or so i have to force it down by hand. theres a constant wirring sound from the motor when switch is pressed so i know that it works.

everything works smoothly. everything is lubed up properly and moves smoothly. im low on fluid but i dont think this is the problem fully.

now when trying to put the top up i get nothing now wirring noise from the motor nothing! SO I MUST PUT THE TOP UP BY HAND EVERYTIME.

does anyone have a wiring diagram and can you explain exactly how the hydraulic system works for the verts.

thank you any help is much appreciated

Could be it's low, a kink in the line, air bubble, motor itself... I've been scanning the manual if you haven't seen it yet and I have the hyrol sys section done (Section 13 Hydraulic System, Motor/Pump and Cylinders ), you just have to wait a bit for the jpgs to load :D

  3. is there anywhere to source or anyone that sells a replacement pump and does anyone sell the front weatherseals that attaches above the visors for the top.

  4. also do the rear quarter windows go down?
cause ive got 2 switches that im assuming are for them but nothing happens. the switches have power to them .

yep, could be a bad wiring/relay or motor. I can scan that section if it's not already done for you to troubleshoot.
EDIT: You need "Section 5 Quarter Glass, Guide and Regulator" to review.
The part is available, retail place, stealership or a 'yard. I think that's abit hasty tho, prob. low hydrol. fluid or a kink in the line.

Air bubble is the problem it sounds.

Fill the tank, and keep the motor screw off.
Open the top and hold for like 10 seconds after its full do the same for lowering the top and hold for 10 seconds

Keep an eye on the fluid level makes sure it stays full.

Also check the cylinders for leaks even small ones.
