Well, got the gasket kit straightened out from Cometic. No problems there, they even through in a few extra seals in case I lost some. Super nice to deal with. Its also like Christmas :hurray...more parts arrived today. New Flywheel and oil pan....and man what an oil pan. For 350 bucks its definitely made quite well.
Received more parts today. Camshafts arrived GSC 274's, ARP head studs and Supertech Cam Folllowers... My Wolfkatz fuel rail and Injectors should be arriving later this week.
Nice, did you get stuck in a time warp or something? I too often time travel - the trick is to get back a few days before you left. That way there's 2 of you a you can get a lot more done
I need to clone myself, but then I would find myself arguing with myself more than I already do. Received more parts today. Got my WolfKatz Top feed fuel rail and Delphi 880cc injectors.. Quality made part, was discouraged on the packaging and shipping though. They kind of just threw it in box and sent it via USPS. Wasnt real excited to come home and find $750 in parts just dangling from my mailbox out on the road.
Heard from the engine shop yesterday. They should have my head done sometime next week. They were starting to fit the over sized valves yesterday. Now I just need to step up the last bit of construction on my new garage so I can actually have a functioning place to work. I just finished wiring it and have to wait for our wonderful county inspector to come check it out, then I can put the insulation and finish of the walls. I foresee the month of March being consumed by working in the celi.
more bad news my friend. call your machine shop. either use the stock valves or get another set from somewhere else. the ferrea are having issues with the yamaha heads. bad news for toyota engines and yamaha bikes. even they are having issues. i also have that quote for you. i just have to find where the hell i put it. you'll be excited.
Do you have any info on that? when you told me about that before I called ferrera and they said they knew nothing about it. When you find the quote pm me what I owe you. I can mail you a check cuz I dont think you want to take the paypal fee hit on it.
Had to register...will have to wait to see what its about. Oddly enough, I was looking around on the Supra Forums and all the guys swear by Ferrera on the 2JZ's. Im betting that Ferrera wont refund me my money because Im sure that they have already been unpacked and installed. So I may be stuck.
Yeah comp plus with the fererra dual springs. Ti retainers etc. So I guess we will see. Seems like everything Im reading that most of the troubles are with the 6000 series.
new comp plus plus dual spring should ahve the issue resolved. do make sure your machinist check the inner spring and how it sits on the head. some of those don't sit correctly.
I know there was paperwork in with the springs about machining the head to fit. Ill know today, Im headed up there to pick it up. Its all finished.
Well, got my Gen2 head back from the engine shop. $2500 later in parts and labor. The guys at Victory Engines in Cleveland have been building racing engines for more than 50 years there(Mostly American Muscle). However, they have started taking on the imports and putting their experience to that. They definitely met my expectations, both on my bottom end and now the top end. Sorry the pictures dont do it justice, for some reason my flash was acting up on my camera. The low down. Hot tanked Port and polish The head required very little resurfacing 1mm oversized Ferrea Comp Plus valves Dual Springs with Titanium Retainers(They had to make a custom tool to mill the head for the springs fit) Cometic seals
