Turbo Clocking

    So what does clocking the turbo do. From what I can see is it makes it so you can face the tube down so not having to run it over the exhaust manifold. What else does it do. Makes it sound all complicated like overclocking a Processor on the computer.

    just rotates the intake housing to assist in tubing for front mounts

    yea just used to place the filute....


    Ive heard its best to be straight down...Is this true?

    personal preferance. i have seen no gains or losses either way.

    mafix why didn't you do this so? you wouldn't have to run it over the exhaust manifold.

    either way i'm crossing the manifold or the downpipe.

    But if you were to cross the downpipe it would be a smaller area than over the manifold. Also wouldn't it shorten up the travel and bring less lag.

    I clocked my turbo on my ge project just for ease of piping install. Youll need to make a notch in the compressor housing where the pin is to keep it from moving.

    i cant get that clip ring off to clock the turbo... *sigh.. my kungfu grip is not quite enough... i must practice the samurai grip/ get some better clip ring pliers.
