This is the computer program Toyota parts departments use when you order stuff. You can download the program from

    Toyota EPC #1 252MB

    Toyota EPC #2 235MB

    Toyota EPC FAQ

You need both parts 1 & 2. Read the FAQ file its important to follow its instructions.

This is the main screen if you know your vin # you can search for parts specific to your car. If you dont have a vin # then under Model name/Catalog Code click the search button and you can select a vehicle. Once a vehicle has been found you can click the save button so the next time you can just open the file you have saved. Once you have found a vehicle click the F10:Exec button.

This is the second screen you will see. It will list a few details about the vehicle you have selected. The highlighted FIG GROUP will get you to any part your car has. Click 1 of the 4 boxes and click the F10:Exec button. You can check multiple boxes.

In this case I selected the Tool/Engine/Fuel Group from the previous screen.

If you don't see the part your looking for on the first screen click F8:Next and it may bring up a second screen.

If you don't see the part your looking for on the second screen click F8:Next and it may bring up a third screen. Continue this process until you find your part or run out of screens.

This is the screen you see when you choose Power Train/Chassis Group

This is the screen you see when you choose Body Group

This is the screen you see when you choose Electrical Group. I am going to search for a windshield wiper part so I can either click the "10" box in the picture of the car or I can click the big box under the car picture or I can click the line on the right that says "85-01 WINDSHIELD WIPER" once selected I click F10:Exec

This will display a diagram of my windshield wiper assembly.

I can zoom the picture by putting the mouse over the picture and right clicking. When I find the part I want (85160) I can left click on the number to select it and then press F10:Exec. You can select multiple parts. To de select a part click on its number a second time. To unzoom the pic press F3:Back.

You finally have a Toyota part number you can use.

One of the Toyota dealerships I deal with quoted me over $600 for the above LINK ASSY, WINDSHIELD WIPER.

ToyotaPartsCheap will sell it to me for

Item Number 8516020340 LINK ASSY, WIPER
    MSRP $221.49
    Core Price $0.00
    Price $177.19

Thats more than a $400 savings. Pretty good incentive to learn how to use the EPC

It can be a bugger to install but read the FAQ and if that don't help then I'll try and answer any questions.

Don't know. You'll have to be a bit more specific and tell me what you were doing in the EPC when it happened.

well i selected cd rom to install the first cd. it searched for the cd and then system error came up. i will try and show you if i can. i selected a1 and a2 then switched to cd rom then i hit f10. the epc stated searching for the disc and then it came up with a system error. the error read as follows:

    SYSTEM ERROR:
    gcsubs01 . C, setuped_cd_check, findfirstfile, (80) (11) (0)
    gcstup14 .C, unsetuped_cd_check, findfirstfile (11) (0) (89)
    gcstup10 , mkdir , E\ tmcmstw1, (0) (13) (198)
    gcstup, cmd_pf_click, get_input_dat/setclientinfo, (13) (0) (0)

anyone know what i did wrong? i labled thecds right ( i think) when i put them in the tray it has the corect names on them in the drive. i dont get it.

Your screen should look like this.

Make sure European area version is check marked.

F: is the hard drive that I installed the EPC on so you will have to change that.

see i did all that. the only difference is that myscreen does not show the date of the disc and if it is inserted once i select A1 and A2. it stays blank. then it brings up those weird error codes. maybe i did not burn the cd's correctly. but when i check themthey have the correct designated names on them and i have the epc on both. so weird. wonder what it could be.

Well to check to make sure your disks are labeled properly go to my computer and see if they are labeled identically to mine. Did you use a capital "E" I don't know for sure but it may make a difference.

yeah i copy and pasted the label straight from the instructions. although i will tell you when i was downloading these, it was kind of funny becuase as soon as it was done i would press the next button and it would freeze up. so i clicked cancel but i had downloaded the files. i am going to retry downloading them on IE instead of FF and see if that makes a difference. when i download torrents from firefox it won;t work, but IE does. weird! i will check the files later tonight. thanks for the troubleshooting

ok i feel stupid beyond belief. i pushed next before the files were extracted completly becuase my computer is slow and i thought it was done. so i am trying it again. thanks!

hey i would really appreciate it. i can send you a fed-ex return label which will send the item to me at work without you having to pay anything. all you have to do is take the cd's to a fed-ex location. would that be ok?
