throttle body/coolant question

Ok I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to my st-162 and I am curious if the coolant lines going through the throttle body also pass coolant through the intake manifold. I need to remove it for cleaning but do not want to remove it if I have to contain any spilled coolant.

Another question I have is I am looking for an aftermarket throttle body. Is there any noticeable improvement with a larger throttle body on the 3sfe?

If so what would you all recommend I went with?

I have a 1987 vert that is mostly stock (aftermarket short ram intake that it came with when bought, and an oil catch can)

The Coolant only passes through the throttle body, its part of emissions control. It does not go through the manifold at all.

I have a ge head, not sure if the throttle body is any different vs fe heads, but without changing the whole manifold on mine i cant see much more room to gain as its basically the same diameter as the actual manifold.

I like the idea of the ram intake though :D

Just remember air in needs to be matched with exhaust out, you can only get so much by freeing up the intake without helping it all get out quicker too! (the exhaust will usually limit it before the intake does anyway)

awesome to know the coolant doesnt pass through the manifold as well now i can do a proper cleaning without worying about the driveway getting messed up. it sucks that the intake opening is small like the butterfly on the throtle body.

heres a pic of the current setup under the hood. its pretty much stock.

thanks again for the help :D
