When i took my cams out of my gts, i forgot to make how to put them back in . Anyone got pics of a 5sfe head in TDC? i know i got my intake cam correct, its just the exhaust cam im worried about.
study the way the lobes work, and get them aligned with the TDC and youll notice theres probably a mark or something. or look in the BGB
Okay this is a 3sge head but the principal is the same. Intake is the top cam shaft, exhaust is the bottom. Cylinder 1 intake lobes are pointing towards the back of the engine, exhaust lobes are pointing towards the front of the engine. Cylinder 2 intake lobes are pointing striaght up, exhaust lobes are pointing straight down. Cylinder 3 intake lobes are pointing striaght down, exhaust lobes are pointing straight up. Cylinder 4 intake lobes are pointing towards the front of the engine, exhaust lobes are pointing towards the back of the engine. Therefor it is safe to conclude that intake and exhaust lobes for the same cylinder allways point in opposite directions and since you know how the intake cam goes you should be able to figure out how the exhaust cam fits.
Well i was going to assume that but i didn't want to make an ass out of myself when i went to start the car. Thx man.
o i feel stupid now, i just realilzed the cams rotate in opposite directions so the lobes wont be opposite direction
