1988 GT 5 speed So this started about 1 month ago. I used to have to pump the brakes to come to a complete stop. I swapped the brake master cylinder out, bled the brakes and done deal. The car was driven, as the days went on I notice the brake pedal kept going further and further down. Once again having to pump the brake to come to a complete stop. I figured I did not bleed the brakes correctly, so I bled them once again. The bleeding the brakes seemed to resolve the issue as I no longer had to pump the brake to come to a stop. Drove the car for another week and I started to notice the break pedal is going further down to complete stop. I have double checked / tripled checked the system and I am not losing brake fluid. I am almost 100% there is no air in the lines, can it be a defective brake master cylinder or what else can I look for?
So I'm going with the above route, I reached out to Autozone and explained the situation. They are ordering a new part for me. I will be installing 4/11 so hopefully I have good news.
We'll see....the saga continues...Oh wait, this problem will be solved fast...and good luck with that time machine haha. Vic
So I got the brake master cylinder from Autozone, swapped out the original one they gave me. The new one is a quite a bit larger but I decided to give it a shot. It fit correctly and I bled the brakes. Brake pedal feels solid, so Im gonna drive as is for a while to see if the issue starts to pop up once again.
