Grrrr Computers!!!! Look here. http://www.alltrac.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=42754&p=417103#p417103 B
So on with the plan. I have been working on my cooler ducting. Attachment: DSC01965.JPG [ 54.34 KiB | Viewed 8 times ] These are the pieces that I made to duct the air from the bumper to the air box and the transmission cooler. Attachment: DSC01984.JPG [ 54.45 KiB | Viewed 8 times ] This is them in place. Except the base piece for clarity shown from underneath. You can see my trans cooler mounted in front of the wheel. the problem is that your pictures are uploaded to alltrac.net, which means you have to make a new attachment to have it show up on st162.net. the reason why it works for you is that you already have it loaded from your alltrac.net threads edit: which i just tried, i went on the alltrac.net thread of yours and after the pictures loaded on there, it showed up on here too
Okay I just went through and edited my previous posts by uploading my pics please god let this be right!! :cuss
Better, pics are showing as thumbnails now I think you should just try pasting the address and not as attachments. Are you using photobucket or imageshack? or are these uploaded at alltrac? Great work, when all's done I want you to make some shrouds & a radiator for me
Yes they are all uploaded at Alltrac. Not using either. Even when I have uploaded them here with my redited post you would think the system would recognize the same file and open it, but then I am an idiot :smug
No, most websites don't allow picture sharing with other sites, I had tons of stuff on Celicatech but couldn't use them on other sites so I had to start a photbucket account Most guys here will tell you the same story Photobucket is free and you can store a shitload of stuff to use wherever you want Sergei has the 205 motor fitted, it's also pre-facelift and I met a guy last weekend who has 3 pre-facelift ST165's of which one is for sale. I'd like you to meet Sergei sometime, his car is road legal but only driven to track days
links take me to alltrac, and won't let me see them. anyhow, i like the pics on the first page with the rad mounted further away, it's most likely what i will need to do to fit my turbo's
I hope you guys are sitting down, Bruce has been very busy creating a one-of-a-kind creation - for those who wondered how this would look..... The time has come Note the shape of the Corona grille and bonnet vs the Celica bumper Lights, bonnet, grille are a direct swap with no mods needed. Grille has been de-chromed Some serious and intricate ducting has gone on under these panels You could'nt get a bigger radiator and intercooler in there if you tried
It looks better with the GT4 bumper than I expected The Corona front looks pretty lame with the stock bumper which has indicators built in. Dunno how Bruce has relocated the indicators but I'm sure a dual filament bulb holder will work in the single bulb indicators
THANKS Kev you're a legend!! Folks some explanation may be required. If it isn't apparent, (cause of the lack of photos due to me being computer illiterate and a slack bastard). Any way the right hand duct,(Looking from the rear), feeds the oil cooler in the guard and exits through a louvered inner guard. The left duct splits in to two. One duct feeds straight into the airbox with dedicated flow. The other smaller duct feeds flow over the gearbox cooler and exits like the other side through a louvered inner guard. It is also available as a supply to the airbox. The intercooler is 600x300x75 with 3" outlets. The Corona front is cause I think it looks better. I know others will disagree and that's cool but it is my car! The lights are literally half the weight of the pop up lights, maybe less http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/Jeaumoer/Bruce/DSC02055.jpg With the bonnet on
with bonnet on it kinda looks like an AE86 so that's on my cool wall !! Question...would it be possible for you to write up what parts are needed for the front swap (partnr's included?) and is it difficult/easy to swap back? I think it's cool, would like to see some pictures outside in the sun of the whole car with bonnet on.
I dont see any major reason why it would be difficult to swap back and forth. The wiring may be an issue since with the pop ups there is another action as the lights turning on, making them pop up. The grille attaches to the light housing itself at the ends the centre attachment is different but there is probably a way around it with a bolt on piece. The lights and corner lights fit no problem. The head light housings have studs on them that slip into prexisting holes in your chassis. I not sure if you use the holes with the original pop ups but they should be there. To remove the pop up and install a Corona light takes about half an hour a side not including wiring. Someone smarter than me will have talk you through the electrical side of it as I only know 2 things about electricity. It's invisible and it can kill you!! Essentially the parts you need are the headlights, the corner lights, the grille and the bonnet. For part numbers search on TOYODIY.COM under Japan, 1986,Corona FF, St16* It is an easy swap. Please excuse my ignorance but do you drive on the left or right side of the road in the netherlands? I only ask as I am not sure if the headlights are made for a left hand drive car. Could possibly be an issue?
that's a good point...we drive lhd... So that will be an issue indeed. I am not sure if LHD corona's of this tpe were made at all. I'm sure Stig knows that . So for the wiring I would make some kind of P&P solution with 2 assemblies, 1 for celica lights, 1 for corona and cut the loom somewhere needed and make a universal joint there. Than you can swap whenever you want. .
