Spark plug tube seals, valve cover seal, dissy seal.......new fuel filter and plugs....

Fucking asses..... Its alot of work......but it will fix my leaks im having and the steering.....

But what pisses me off the most is i was about to order my new wheels and tires too.

yeah i think i might have to.......im looking into pricing of all this shyt.......and then i have to find the weekend to do it in.....im sure if i just bust ass and get into it i can get it done in about 12 hours or so from start to finish.

but i have amazon financing so i might still be able to slide the wheels in and make payments on them and then ill have to save them pennies for the tires.

I've sadly done the timing enough times I could do it blindfolded. Let me know the weekend maybe I can help you.

i did the de-power. i love it. but cant recomend for a daily. in fact i think the flyinmiata is what i used for a guide. one of the biggest benifits is ill never have another p.s. leak!

-sorry nate, that sucks. looks like 2 weekends to me. 1 could get suspension/steering, 1 for motor?

  8. yeah light cars like our celica or my old zx2 under ten MPH you can tell the lack of P/S. but above that there is really no difference except there is more feedback from the road. i daily drove my zx2 for five years with a de-powered rack with no problems. for the most part i do it for better control and the extra power that the engine does not have to waste. i would recommend it for and celica owner that doesn't mind a bit harder steering.

did no p.s. for a year, no difference above walking speed, except when you want it to turn, you feel it. below that speed it's heavy but managable.

i found one on amazon for 130....but i dont think it comes with tie-rods.

i was thinking also the rear main...but its not leaking and ive never done a rear main so do we have to part the motor and tranny to do it?.....i mean i plan on pulling the motor anyways to do all of this stuff and to clean out the bay.

was also thinking about just doing the 5 speed swap as well but may not have the funds at the moment.

yep, to get at the rear main youd need to seperate them. other than that all the stuff can be done with the motor/tranny still intact. all that stuff can be done with the motor in the car. the p.s. stuff is a pita. you could wait till you swap to do the bay clean out.

Yeah i was thinking about holding off .... just for a bit.....and do the 5 speed swap at the same time....driving without ps is okay.....hope i wont screw something else up by waiting.....id rather pull the motor to do the rack replacement tho....just to make it stupid simple that is.....im more worried about the spark plug tube seals but its been that way for months without causing problems......and the timing stuff was all done at 51k so i got some life yet to go.......after thinking about all this i still might go ahead with the rims and tires anyhow.
