Hey everyone I have an issue. My car recently developed a tapping noise between 2000 to 2800 rpms. My motor has just above 130,000 miles on it and I wanted know what you guus thought. I'm at work and will have video uploaded in the next half hour or so of how she sounds.
DO NOT START IT AGAIN! You are about to put a rod thru your radiator Drop the sump and change the big end bearings before it's too late, drop the mains caps and inspect them too
Okay. I need this car to run, but I don't quite have the garage space nor any tools. It may not be out of my price range, but what is needed to go ahead and replace the bearings... tools perhaps a how to guide etc. I work two jobs and one of them is delivery and the max I can have this car down is a week.
In that case tow it to a workshop and ask if they will change the rod bearings for you. They will probably tell you are wasting your time, but as it's not constant I know it will work.
