Yeah you got to drain the tank and then remove it to get access to the pump and fuel lines connected to it.

It's really not very hard, but be careful with the filler neck. Mine broke and I had to figure out what to do for a replacement. Ghetto rig FTW!

what about cutting a hole int he car to get access to the tank? I think I rememebr seeing a pic of st 165's car with a square cut out to get access to the pump

Nope no hole in the floor of my car (well maybe some rust..), my gas tank isn't even in the same spot as yours.

Hell I can do better than that......I'll even give you a real life picture of the little bugger your after :D

The problem with cutting a hole is the lines that come out of the top of the fuel pump. Everything in the picture is connected to the fuel pump and not very flexible so you really have to drop the tank to remove the pump and attached fuel lines

I 3rd that notion..dropping the tank isnt that hard..i replaced my tank entirely.Just cut the straps and disconnect the hosing.I used a piece of wood and a floor jack to ease it down.

Dsconnect the hose then drop the tank....lol otherwise it might be hard..unless you have it supported by a floor jack.....like you did ^^ :D

Fuel pump come in today, so its getting done tomorrow. My jack broke, and i dont have the time to do it around work, so it was towed to the mechanic today.

Which means i'll be driving it tomorrow! :D ...I hate driving my auto ST162.
