When I first installed my HU, all was well. Now after about a week or two I am no longer getting stations that I was getting. I checked the antenna on the hatch and all of the connections are good. I would not think it came loose from the HU becuase no stations would work and it was in there tight as hell( ).

Any other ideas of what the problem could be?

try playing a cd and see if the unit is bad. other wise pull it back out and inspect. i have a sliced antenna wire to the headunit. but i still get some stations

the HU is fine and i was hoping maybe there was a common issue with this somewhere but I guess not. It looks like i will just have to suck it up and pull the damn thing out and inspect the antenna lead.

well i finally took the unit out to inspect the antenna wire and everything looks good. I still have poor reception. Am i stuck with just buying an amplified antenna to get good reception again?

Well the manual isn't really any help.

It sugests to temporarilly replace the antenna or cable to see if recption improves. The best you can do is to remove and insert each end of the cable into its coresponding plug and hope that by doing that you will clean up any oxidation on the connectors and create a better contact.

I would be guessing corrosion and a poor contact at the antenna conection water does seem to run down the cable, you could try some die electric grease on the conection it will at least help prevent water getting into the conection.
