    hi guys,

got a k&n pod from my mates and want to install it soon. i've sourced out the right maf adapter, but just wondering if i take the stock airbox out, and bolt the adaptor and the filter on, will i need something else to support it? or will the filter stay there by itself? my cousin has a late model crx and needed an extra piece of metal that bolts the pod onto the panel of the car. any help would be great

    cheers guys

You can just leave it laying there, or you can make your own bracket and hold it up. Doesn't really matter a whole lot. Catch with leaving it laying there is you are not taking full advantage of the filter.

you may as well make up a bracket and also a little heat shielding box for it otherwise theres no real performance gains having it exposed to the hot air in the engine bay...! either that or mount it in the front or side guard somewhere?

asli it will wear and tear on the boot if you don't support it. A bracket is easy to make

Try to make it so it doesnt rub against anything, my K&N pod rubbed and now its all black where it did.

Yeah, pretty stupid having a pod without boxing it in, yet i see sooo many people do it.

yaa and if its just sitting there it may damage itself with vibrations...like mine did :)

oh ok. so the bracket would bolt onto the maf as well as the adapter, but how about at the bottom? would u bolt it onto the panels of the car as well?

and any of u guys boxed the filter without relocating the battery?

    thanks for the replies

The existing bolt & hole that the stock airbox used should work.
