So I sold my little brother my 86 gts and I left for the military 2 years ago, came home and he replaced the clutch and now it wont start. The coil is getting power to it but not sending spark out. Is there a ground or safety switch that could be causing this or should i tell him to order a new one. I find it a little curious that it could just go from starting to not sending spark simply from changing the clutch. I feel like he missed something putting it all back together. What are some common reasons spark wont send on this car?
I had a similar situation on my '87 GT-S recently that turned out to be a bad coil. I ended up getting one off of an old Camry at the boneyard for less than $10 buck$. I had to do a simple, but clean Hillbilly modification because the Camry had a slightly different connection for the high tension, but the mod worked bitchen from the start... Vicdat
