I have a new problem. Today the vacuum hose that goes form the EGR valve to the EGR vacuum modulator melted thru. Mad a horrable blowing sound. I lost power on any hill or trying to accelerate. I put another line on but that to burned thru within 4 miles. This is a 3sfe engine, anybody ever had a problem like this before? Is there a way to block this off with out loseing power or milage.

Go to Emissinons Contorls on this site and click on fig 20008. You will see the port on the lower side of the egr valve that attaches to the botton of the vacuum mobulator, that is the one that melted. I think that what is happening is that the egr valve is stuck open and under load (full throttle) that the pressue and heat that comes out did this. I might have to much blowby form the rings being worn. Does anybody have an idea (I work on diesel engines for a living not good with gas engines).
