wow....its shiny...funtional. i wondered about those. one would think you wouldnt need to have the air box modded for a short ram. with this i bet its ok. let us know how well it works.

lol rye good or bad price tho that was nz dollars as well xD
    brand apc ?

and yes the filter is big !

the actual intake hole for it is 4inch but has reducer from 3.5 and 3inch of course im using the 3nch one

but the actual main width of the filter is quite big , before i fitted it i thought it might look ugly under the hood , but it didnt look too bad after all

american products company , and pics of the box below

i guess i could put metal around it to box it in more and make a air flow pipe

pure rice / anti tuning, as you have eliminated the stock cold air feed :(

use a panel filter, stock cold air box and improve the ram air effect of the cold air feed ftw :)

it might be a better attatchment as a cold air filter going downward cuz its encased in that plastic. but it think it will be fine. and if i'm not mistake nz dollars are about 1.75 to 1 us dollar. i havent looked into it lately. so he paid about 40 us dollars for it i think. not too bad since it functions and looks ok.

    1 USD = ~1.25 NZD.

Parts are always more expensive here anyway cause they are all made internationally and shipped over here.

well if you have taken your fender off. There isn't a old air feed because the pipe goes down into the fender to a box with a hole no bigger than the width of a pencil. So no better than was was already there. The only inprovement if any would be better air flow.

    looks ok
but the main reason the pod is deisgned the way it is, is so you can put some plastic tubing the the front and screw it between that pink ring so it acts as a proper CAI.

I bought a spectre brand, who also makes a front filter adapter that allows 3" ductwork to be connected to the front of their filters. This brand may work for you or the brand you bought might make a coupler for this purpose. You can't see the fitting in this photo, but it's there.

what if it becomes a cai and goes into the fender like i think sprey had done with his old one. wouldnt that be the most effective since it is protected by the plastic and still cone style. or am i wrong? and the snorkel is really cool. you have it going to the lights? did you do a front grill delete or something?

  19. I'd be careful how far down u run it cause my boyfriends 240sx intake was ran down to the front in the bumper and mounted and it was raining kinda bad, and the person in front of him ran through a huge puddle and he couldn't go around cause of traffic so the water went right up in the intake and kill the motor a few feet from the puddle. Threw a rod through the block, very sad day. Need less to say it ain't there no more, moved it up higher.

yeah i know about the water , when mine was done it was uncased in the fender with 1 air gap but pretty hard 2 get water into it unless it went right through the front air dam

my front hole on the pod is way huger then 3 inch over 4inch ill measure it later
