i just pick this celica up for $250 and after a polish it turned out amazing.its a auto so im looking for a manual to do a manual conversion. its stock except for the 2 1/2 inch exhaust. Future mods are extractors, paint bonnet and bumpers, suspension mods.
Hi Matt, Nice score for $250! I saw this car advertised recently, glad it went to an appreciative owner and not parted out. Where are you located? You'll want to paint that bonnet asap though, primer is porous and it will rust without paint it. Cheers, Matt
Welcome from the UK Matt. That polishing job you've done looks amazing !! Side panels of the body look nice and straight, credit to you !
there isn't really a manual to do it. grab a look at stig's build thread. he has instructions on how to do it. basically get an S53 or S54 gearbox from any celica with an S engine 1986-1999, or a camry with a 3s-fe, get the master cylinder/slave cylinder and the lines between them. a front mount (autos are different), a brake pedal and clutch pedal from a 5 speed, and you need to drill a hole somehow in the firewall to put the clutch master cylinder. axles should be the same...
THe hole drilling isnt hard at all, once you get the clutch pedal assembly, there is already one upper nut on top to place one bold to hold it on, then the other 3 holes on the pedal assembly will line up on the firewall with a impression already there and you drill. Just need to remove the lower dash cover, have a small friend, a right angle air drill or dremal. Car looks great btw! cant beat $250 at all!!
