Way too much, can't be right. So obviously the twenty year old springs are softer than elton john in a hot tub full of beautiful women. When I bought the car I did the shock test, pushed down on each corner and got the standard bound and rebound with no extra bouncing. So the shocks seem reasonably healthy. Not that it's relavent, cause if I corner too hard the front lip scrapes. Also any bump or dip = crrsshh. The bumps don't bother me, but I feel like there should be no scraping of anysort during hard cornering. It's rather irritating cause the only way to avoid it is to drive like a freakin grandma. Which in someways is good until I get the car nice and tuned up. But once maintenance is out of the way, I intend to rally that biatch! This isn't much of a thread topic, but I just want to know if this is a common gts thing? obviously stiffer springs/struts will help but will stiffer/lower springs resolve this? or should I just install a baja style skidplate J.K. Oh and I'm not just some idiot that nail's dips while hauling ass. ther is a definitive vehicular shortcoming.
I don't know if it's common with Celica's as much as it is with a 20 year old car... Springs wear out....and that's that.
Even just the same springs, but not soft, will resolve it. Any further upgrades obviously will further upgrade the handling. Mine had sagged springs, swapped them all with a set from a lower km car, still stock. Arent sagged, handles quite good now. So you can even just swap to better cond stock ones, but while your there you might as well upgrade haha!
haha I love anograms Sounds like new springs are going on the list. Cool now I can pass off lowering springs and ajustable gas struts as nessesary maintenance. Just need some more money. Hopefuly my new weight loss program takes off www.tapewormsolution.com You might become horribly malnurished, But your ass will look so freakin sexy in the complimentary daisy duke short shorts!!!
hahah i am with ya on the springs. i am interested in eibach. but i think if i lower the car, wont it still scrape?
Probably, but your car will look good while doing it. Let us know when you've tested your new setup. I think my local roads would absolutly punish me If I tried a 2" drop. I do want to try -1" though. This has definatly got me curious, hopefuly someone with a lowered setup can chime in.
