Hey everyone, anyone know if ST162 front OEM springs or lowering springs fits my at160?At first look they're the same, but in toyodiy they have diferent part numbers, but I dont know if its only because of spring rates or something :cuss I need help
I bought B&G's, but they're not installed yet :banghead Rickstar has them also and loves them :mrgreen Mafix has Intrax which he seems to love also? :hehe I don't think you can get the Eibach pro's anymore, the Eibach sportline replaced the pros. I don't know anyone who has the Eibach sportlines so I can't comment on them :roll
-i got some kinda eibachs. ill have to check the p/n's. there great, but the konis make all the difference.
Thanks for all the answers But the thing is,I only find springs for ST162's and ST165's here in europe,I dont want to buy in the US because of customs house :S The shocks are the same in the st162 and at160,im pretty sure the springs are the same too,the only thinks that makes me think is the part number thats different :hehe
Thats because the AT160 is lighter at the front than the ST162 I'd just use ST162/5 stuff and modify if needed
As far as I can tell everything else is the same I had a new set of ST165 shocks here, different no's to the ST162 but externally identical so it can only mean different spring/damper rates as the 165 is 200kg+ heavier than a 162 In hindsight those would probably have been a nice upgrade for the 162 Check out Jon's shock thread for p/n's and a good write-up, don't skimp on anything ie rubbers or that will become the weak link in the suspension.
don't use alltrac stuff. it is very different. rear shocks are different, very different rates on all the parts.
Ok mafix, the springs i'm looking for are from a st162 so I guess I have nothing to worry about Thanks guys!
B&G's are actually European - The netherlands I believe. It's the USA who has to import them. When I bought mine I was told I had the last set in the country - if I didn't buy right at that time I would've had to wait months for another shipment batch to be imported :cheers
We had the same problem here in Germany...no springs for AT160. So we decided to use springs and shocks from a Corolla AE111. The weight of both cars is nearly the same and for the Corolla a large amount of aftermarket/lowering springs is available. Just use strut mounts from the AT160. We used K&W 60/40 and got a damn good result! The driving behaviour is very accurate and stable. Even on bad roads...
Welcome to the site daubor. Make a new thread in the Members Celica's section. We'd love to see pics of your ride and its history :cheers
Thx, i sold this AT160 last week, but i'm still in contact with the new owner who is starting a restauration! You can follow here: http://board.toyota-forum.de/showthread.php?t=142361 (i hope links to other resource sites are allowed) My own car is a ST162, pictures will come soon in member area! Back to topic! @celica_gt-i: Have you already bought these st162 springs and from who they are?
Sh*t if I've been here before maybe i've had bought some ae111 corolla springs :banghead :banghead I already have the springs at home, the brand is boge and they lower the car 35mm!It cant be more, because I have 4-1 exhaust headers and they really near the ground,so the -60mm it's impossible in my car! Thanks for the help I'll change the springs today,I hope they fit,i'll post pics later
