Hmm a quick search at the top of the page for "cold air intake" or something will come up with quite a few people that have some step by steps already for ya

what is the best setup though to be?

from what I think I know

    -Longer Intake = more torque
-Lots of hot air (ex. car in the summer with an intake) = better mpg, less power (easier to get air in, but less volitile creating less hp but more mpg)
-Lots of Cold air (Car in winter= Slightly worse mpg, more power (more dense air, uses more fuel but also is able to produce more power)

In the last few days I read a lot about modification's vs hp and mpg. Some of this seems wrong but google it and read up, i might be wrong

    turbo, problem solved!!!

seriously though the common mod seems to be the short ram w/ heatsheild

did anyone with the short ram notice any improvements? theoreticaly that would lower torque, increase HP. If the air is hotter than the stock box it would get better mpg, but possibly lose any hp gains, and a torque loss. With a shield it would rise hp ... tower torque, gain power from the cooler air but lose mpg due to the colder air, but the loss in mpg could be counteracted by the free-er flowing intake...

OMG MY BRAIN CANT TAKE ANYMORE OF THIS.

go down and ignore the pipe with nipples you don't need them.

Just make a box and run duct tubing into it and you have cold air... open the top of the box and close the duct and you get warm air!

Mafix is right just find a ShortRam and inclose the filter in a box- I ve seen a bleach bottle that has been cut in have and aluminum foil glued to th inside as a inclosure- The intakes for our cars should not cost alot considering the HP advantages you will get.
