My new all trac has a jdm engine and i need to know if i will have wiring issues or is it a bolt up. Ive got to get my flywheel re-ground becuase its rusty and i have to clean out the interior because there was mice in it. But am i going to have any issues with the new enigne? My computer is in best buy being fixed and im on my buddies but i will post pictures when i get it back.
shouldn't be any wiring issues at all. just throw it in and make sure there are no check engine lights. one thing you may want to do is check the knock sensor wire and make sure it looks good and mabye test it on resistance. that thing sucks to change in the car.
thanks man, im gonna put a new PS,water,oil pumps, new timing belt. Shouldnt be too hard i dont think looks fairly easy to put it in. The inside was Infested with mice so ive gotta do a hazmat cleanup on the interior then run the new harness, the old one was burned so i got a new one. I hope i can get some pics posted soon.
Does the J spec gte have a different sized timing belt? ive had 3 different gte belts and none seems to fit right, i fianlly found one that works but it was weird that so many of them didnt fit when it said they should.
all gtes share the same belt. what you may be getting are non GTE belts. the GE belt should work IIRC.
am i going to have issues with the emission control stuff? Like EGR's and crap since the JDM engine doesnt have all of that stuff. Am i going to have to swap over my intake manifold? Iam just wondering becuase most motors need to have that shit with a USDM computer.
depending on where you live will decide what will happen with emissions. i'll need a lot more info from your state before i can advise on a repair.
I dont need any emission control here i just want to know that if i put the motor in if its going to work. It doesnt have any emissions crap whatsoever so will an american ECU run it? I dont need a JDM harness do i? Becuase that would blow super hard core, i just dont want to get it all put in and it not run.
Just now realized that the alternator wires were cut on the harness, so now i have to wire them all back together. God i hope this thing runs in the end becuase im gonna tweak if it doesnt.
