i dig that center exhaust too. that guy stole my exhaust idea. i am totally in love with that. please findd more pics of the back so we can all admire that firm ass! i dunno why i likes them dual exhausts but i dig it. true bout the wheels and mirrors. and in all honesty, i would have preferred clear lenses than blacked out ones. something a little more euro. but this guy is an innovator. kudos to him and his accomplishment.
Click on the link.. There's some more photos too feast your eyes on http://www.bobis.se/ Once you get to the main page click on the st162 banner on the right. Also, if you click on Images, you can see some photos of the new engine he put in. Looks really good
I don't know why everyone is hating the rims and mirrors. The rims are BMWs, kinda remind me of GT racing rims though. Much nicer than some lame ricer rims would be, and I don't think old school rims would fit the style of this car either. The different mirrors look fine to me as well.
Its way cool in its Euro looks, but it just looks to much of a show car/trailer car for me, the coilovers are only to slam it, and it only runs a filter and zorst on the 3sge engine. I love the look, but its got very little bite to back up the look! Just my 2 cents lol
cannt see any engine pics, but the lack of chassis mods and lack of boost gauge dont make me hopefull. I am not slating it, te work is great and the quality high, its just for me to really love a car, its gotta be both show and go.
It's a GTS with a NA engine. He lists specs under the pictures in the link posted above. "3SGE, Open air filter" "Exahust, straight from cat, ends with dual 4" Jap style mufflers " If it was an All-Trac with a 3sgte engine there would be a gas tank where the exhaust exits in the middle. He also does not have a boost guage in the stock instrument panel he has the GTS battery meter instead.
I really think that audi bumper is too much... Makes it look like a block rolling down the road. I really like the MKII flares though, those make it look really fat! I have some of those off my MKII volkswagen rabbit GTI... lol I should totally put those on my yota! I really like how wide they make the celica! But this car is, a Euro-redo. It has all the inspirations of a serious Euro modifier. Blacked out lights, the body kit, rims, mirrors from an F1... Ick again on those mirrors... And why the F aren't the windows blacker than night?! lol Just some of my opinions.
So some mixed comments of my old car... humm Build from the start was to build a showcar, but not to the extreme. It worked great to drive but the big wheels at the back helped alot to get the result with no handling while braking or turning. But it looked awesome! Sold the car before I was "done" with it, wanted to change alot of stuff. In some pics the coilovers was still in the workshop, and I did had some problems with the rear, the tires hit the inside housing(?) in speeds over 70kmh when I hit a bump. clearence was no big pain had about 6-7cm to the sump and gearbox, had some smaller insidents getting on the ferry to finland and I did try to avoid the most speedbumps... The car from the beginning was pretty crappy, and when in the stage as the pictures I wanted to change alot of things and mainly why didnt I start with a GT4 insted! Got tired of the show no go scene pretty fast :/ I still love the looks of it thou, it would be funny to start with a st165 insted but a little more race inspired and keeping the same looks And the F1 mirrors, I just love the look! (still do) I did sand them down to plain black from fake carbon (yuck), they are now only sold as chrome (even more yuck) If you have questions please mail me info@bobis.se Best Regards Joel
Hey thanks for stopping by. I think pretty much everyone here really likes your old car but no one is going to built a car everyone likes. Each of us has some minor changes we would make to suit our style. I'm 47 so when I was growing up it was all about jacking the back of the car up and trying to fit as fat a tires as you could find on the rear end with some nice chrome rims. So like I said in my previous post I'd swap rims and do away with the F1 mirrors in favor of a rear view camera system. With the exception of the steel sideskirts most of the body modifications appear to be bolt on with some custom brackets I'm guessing, I'm not sure if the Golf II wide arches are molded in or not but overall a really nice looking car that most people could build without needing alot of speciallized equipement. So I'm sure you have inspired alot of people to mod their 4th gens. I personally like your front bumper from an Audi RS4. When I find another All-Trac I want to do it IMSA style and I think that front bumper would work pretty well with the IMSA style front fenders.
